Gratitude Day 6 – 30 Days of Thankfulness

I am so glad it’s Friday.  Fridays are always so busy.  Heavy traffic, huge to-do lists; I guess people love to play catch up or just want to wrap up loose ends so they can enjoy the weekend.  On days like this, I just want to wind down and enjoy a good book, but after commuting and looking at screens all day my eyes are tired and that brings me to one of my favorite things I am grateful for……

Just in case you don’t know what is, it is an app where you can purchase books and have them read to you.  This is great for a busy person on the go.  You can basically take a library of books with you everywhere you go.  I love to listen in my car or when I’m cooking or on nights like this when I just want to kick back.   You will be amazed at how many books you can “read” in a year lol 🙂

They have partnered with kindle and synced some of the books that are in digital and audible format which is great.  What’s your favorite book(s)?  Please feel free to share I’m always looking for a good read.

What are you grateful for today?  Share in the comments.

See you tomorrow

Monday Motivation

Happy new month.  As we get ready to say good bye to summer and hello fall, let’s set our intentions to make choices you can be proud of.

Losing weight isn’t about starving.  I see so many quick fix programs and products that promote lose 5 pounds in a week.  Did you know you can lose 5 pounds in a week from eating loads of nutritious foods!  Don’t be fooled by these promotions.  A healthy lifestyle is when you have learned what to eat and what not to eat.  My intention is to help you to realize the foods that bring YOU the positive results that you want.

Eat, don’t starve yourself.  Abs are made from the inside out. Inside your kitchen,  not at the restaurant.  Snack on fruit and vegetables between meals.

Stay positive. You become what you think about. What you feel, you attract.  What you imagine, you create.  Visualize and create an action plan. Vision boards and goals don’t work unless you do.

Exercise.  Do you eat out of boredom?  Are you an emotional eater?  If so, shift your behavior. Get up and move. Exercise boosts your mood, mental focus and metabolism; besides, sweat is good for the body, especially your skin.

At the end of the day you want to have a day, a week, a month, a year where you will look back and feel good about yourself and your choices.

Slow Down so You Can Speed Up

In a busy fast paced World it seems that we are short on time. Time hasn’t changed, we still have 24 hours a day.  However, technology sure has, and our minds and bodies are spinning.  Take some time each day to silence the noise.

Several bouts of 1 minute quiet sessions can clear the mind. Drive with the radio off for a change, go on a news fast, or a social media fast for a day.

I love the concept slow down so you can speed up just as much as I can’t hear you when you’re yelling.

When we slow down, we take time to get quiet and tune out everyone else’s thoughts so we can hear our own thoughts and ideas.

Take a few days to tune out the noise of others and tune into yourself. Let me know how relaxed, creative, and peaceful you’ve become.

Good night loves. Meditate. Prayer. Find your Quiet place. Enjoy.

6 Steps to Getting to L.Y.F.E.

You know life can bog you down, you look up and you are simply existing from one day to the next.  Stop existing and start living!  With so much going on at work, at home at the end of the day you find no time for yourself.

If you know me, you know I was on a hamster wheel and one day I decided to Do Me First! Now I teach others how to do the same without feeling guilty. I show you how to:
Get a LYFE
without feeling guilty. The results will actually allow you to love life on a new level. You see when you feel good, it reflects in what you do and how you do it. If you continue to pour into others continuously without refueling, you will hit a wall, you will burn out, and you will lose your passion.

Refueling your body, mind, and spirit is pertinent to your LYFE. Start your transformation with daily routines or rituals whichever you like to call it. This will create consistency.
My morning routine is like this:

I lie still for a few and meditate. I tune out all the thoughts that want to bombard my mind and I meditate even if its only a few minutes.

I drink my morning tonic. This helps my insides to wake up and do their job along with create alkalinity in my system.

I exercise. Exercise has so many benefits. It not only helps you to lose weight but it gives you natural energy, it helps to create mental clarity and focus.

I fuel my body with a green smoothie. The benefits of a green smoothie are multiple, because your smoothie will likely include spinach, kale, or some other leafy green that provides phytonutrients, fiber, and minerals that will help flush toxins from your body.

Body – Fuel your body with Whole Foods, lean proteins, whole grains, healthy fats and loads of fruits and vegetables.

Mind – Take a minute to shut off the chatter of the world. If you can only get 3 minutes that’s fine. Take time to close your eyes, and practice some deep breathing cycles. Do this a few times a day.

Soul – Take a moment before you go to sleep and reflect on what you are thankful for. Happy people are grateful people. Speak your gratitude out loud, to your higher power, share it with a friend, or simply journal it.
nourish your mind body soul

Natural is the buzz these days. Natural hair, eat natural products, and my favorite going for a walk, run, jog or hike in a natural environment.

Going for a walk in natural environments are very healing/soothing. Whether at a park or nature trail a nature walk is a great full body exercise for the body, mind and the soul.

  1. Walking helps to:
  2. Decrease Stress
  3. Boost your mood
  4. Spark your creativity
  5. Helps you to sleep better
  6. Speed up your metabolism

If you find yourself eating because you need a mood change ask yourself are you ~  Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired or just plain bored?

Going for a 20 minute plus walk may be the change you need that can help.  Instead of mindlessly eating, go for a walk and walk off the pounds.  If you find that you are hungry, then enjoy a plant based food selection before you give in to a craving that you will soon regret.

A plant based lifestyle (not vegan) will allow your body to tap into it’s natural resources giving you what your body needs, naturally. Increasing your intake of fruits and vegetables will help to reduce inflammation such as obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure.  A major benefit of eating nutrient dense foods is you will be provided nutrients that will help the body to enter into an alkaline state and promote self-healing.

When you were a child if you fell and scraped your knee, your body would grow a scab to protect the skin while it healed itself.  No one told your body to develop a scab, it did it naturally; similar to plants, when parts of plants break off they reproduce/regenerate that broken piece.

If we would get back to nature we will find that we can help our bodies naturally without synthetic drugs, or over-eating.
