Ready to Shed Some Pounds and Inches?


As the seasons change so should we that’s why I’m doing my seasonal Refresh.  Spring is about rebirth, and starting fresh. You’ve heard about spring cleaning ~ out with the old and in with the new; well that’s what we are going to do with our insides.

You may be thinking what the heck is a Refresh.  A refresh is a nice way to say detox.  Because the term “detox” is over used and often times the word scares many people.  When people hear the word detox, they go running for the hills because all they think is deprivation, drinking meals, hunger and withdrawal.

That may be true with some programs, but that’s not the case with my program.  I want to share with you why a detox is one of the best choices you can make for your body.

Before we jump into the nitty gritty of things, let me introduce myself and give a brief definition of detox and let you know why I’m even encouraging you to try this one in the first place.

Cleansing is defined in the dictionary as making something clean, but when thinking in terms of bodily function, the term cleanse is used more often when a program is specifically targeted toward cleaning out certain organs in the body, and most often the digestive system.  Like a colonics.  Many cleanses and detoxes use properties from both in their programs.

What if I don’t need to detox?

Well, I wish I could tell you that were true! The truth of the matter is that all of us need to detox, at least once a year, and ideally 3-4 times. Our environment has gotten increasingly toxic, and we’re ingesting toxins through our water, air, and food that we sometimes just can’t control. Then add in the chemicals that we have in our homes through our clothes, plastics, and electronics, and that means pretty much everyone is carrying a toxic load that is more than your body can handle.

When our bodies get overexposed to toxins, and it will,  our liver does the best job it can to protect us, and it does this by wrapping toxins in mucous and storing them in fat cells. (Umhmm, yuck.) The problem with that is when we have a toxin stored in our fat, we can’t burn that fat until we release and process that toxin! The reality is that no matter how much you exercise, eat right, and manage your stress, you won’t be able to lose that stubborn fat until you partake in a detox and get rid of those toxins for good.  Check out my blog for more information about detoxing.
